Jaigarh Fort or the victory Fort is also called “Cheel ka Teela” or “The hill of Eagles” on the Aravali Range, overlooks the Amber Fort and Maota Lake. It was built by Raja Jaisingh, in the year 1726 to protect the Amber Fort and its Palace. You can excellent view of the Aravali hills and the Amer Fort, from Jaigarh Fort, which is 400m above the Amer Fort.

Jaivana Cannon - World's Largest Cannon on Wheels

The Jaivana Cannons at the Dungar Darwaza, opens up to the Delhi Jaipur Highway. This was built in the year 1720 by Raja Jai Singh II of Jaipur. Four Elephants were used to swivel this Cannon around on its access. This is said to be used only once by Raja Jai Singh II as a test fire by Raja Jaisingh II towards the direction of Chaksu, in the year 1720. That impact has caused a depression where you can find a pond even today. It is also said that many pregnant woman living there, suffered miscarriage due to that. It weighs 50 tonne.

Armoury

The graveled fort will take you towards the house of Armoury. This was used by the Army of the Maharajas to keep the weapons. This has now become like a museum of Weapons and it’s a lovely place.

The Jaigarh Fort Museum houses some of the most historical and culturally rich artifacts, that’ll make your trip to Rajasthan worthwhile. There are places where you can see how the Kings and Queens used to have their lunch. There are mud idols depicting the days routine. You can even see the Royal Kitchen.

You can see Raja Jai Singh sitting for Lunch with other kings of nearby Kingdoms and there is a wooden platform on which a cloth is put and then the Golden plates are kept on it. Each Plate has 7 dishes and a glass of water. A similar replica can be seen for the Queens dining are as well. It’s really worth your time.

This is a beautiful garden in Jaigarh Fort outside the Royal Apartments. This was the place where the Maharajas used to unwind and relax. This Mughal Style Gardens offers fantastic views of the surrounding Mountains and views. The Mughal loved this four quartered gardens, and hence the name Char (four) bagh (Garden). Jaigarh Fort water Supply

The water supply to the Jaigarh Fort is done by the Pucca Canals which bring Rain water and fulfills the water needs. The largest tank is 158 ft. long, 138 ft. wide and 40 ft. deep. Approximately 60 lakh gallons of water is stored here.
